Now he faces a Pittsburgh team that has lost 3 of 4 and send a struggling Zach Duke to the mound. Duke has allowed 48 hits in 35 innings of work this season, and has especially struggled in his last 3 appearances. Duke will be facing a San Francisco team that has struggled at times this season, but has shown promise against left handed starters, especially over their last 5 games, hitting .344 against them. The Giants have won 5 straight games that Sanhcez has started and should make it 6 in a row after tonight.

This will be Pelfreys second road start of the season, after losing his first road start to the Phillies. Despite being 2-6 against the Mets Webb owns a 2.26 Era against them and has been the victim of poor run support in those losses. The Diamondbacks will score some runs for Webb today, and if he pitches against the Mets today, like he has in the past, he will come away with his seventh straight Win!!!

It's no secret that San Diego has had trouble scoring runs against quality starting pitchers. The question is , is Philadelphia's Adam Eaton a quality pitcher? At this point in the season, probably not, as he as only made it to the 6th inning in 3 of his 5 starts. What is surprising is that Phillies Manager Charlie Manual pulled him from his last start after only 3 innings of work. Eaton was staked to a 6-0 lead and lost his focus allowing 3 runs in 3 innings, at which point Manual yanked him in frustration. Eaton will be opposed by Randy Wolf of the Padres, who has had issues of his own in his last couple of starts. Wolf allowed 9 runs in 10 innings of work in his last 2 games, with both games coming against a rejuvenated Arizona offense. Now he gets to face a Philadelphia offense that can also put runs up in a hurry. One thing is for sure, Adam Eaton will be prepared and ready for this game, and he should have success against a Padre club that has hit a measly .177 against righties in their last 5 games.

This should be a very exciting game for those that are able to watch it. Arizona starts Brandon Webb, who has pitched 6+ innings in all of his starts and has not allowed more than 3 runs in any of his starts on the season. Being on the road hasn't affected Webb this season and a 3-0 record and 1.71 ERA in road games is proof enough that he will give San Diego fits today. The Padres start the Invincible Jake Peavy today. Peavy has pitched very well of late, but the Padres middle relief have blown leads in his last two games. You have to wonder how much of a toll this is having on Peavy? Arizona has scored 3+ runs in 21 straight games, while San Diego has been shut out 3 times in the month of April, while scoring 3 or less in 16 of 24 games this month. Peavy will pitch a great game, but so will Webb. The Padres middle relief has got to be getting fatigued after all the extra inning games the Pares have been involved in. This gives the bullpen advantage to the Diamondbacks, who should get the job done in the later innings.

Oakland's Greg Smith held Toronto to only 2 hits over 6 innings in his first career start. One thing that was quite impressive was that The Blue Jays only managed a .111 batting average against him. Now he gets a shot against the powerful lineup of the White Sox. He will be opposed by Mark Buehrle, who struggled in his first game of the season(7 Runs in 1.2 Innings Pitched), but came back strong against Detroit. Oakland has been scoring lots of runs, and should get another strong performance from Smith.
